- Schools with a religious ethos – Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran, Uniting, Christian, Ecumenical
- Non-religious Schools – Grammar, non-denominational
- Schools with wide-ranging student populations, from 45 to 2300
- Single-sex and co-educational Schools, from Early Childhood to Secondary and Tertiary
Compulsory Registration
All primary and secondary teachers in Queensland are required to be registered for their profession with the Queensland College of Teachers, a statutory authority which oversees all teachers. Qualifications are assessed by QCT to ascertain whether Queensland standards have been met in teacher education and continuing professional development of teachers is encouraged. The QCT also ensures that no unsound teachers are allowed to work in Queensland Schools by conducting compulsory criminal history checks on all registration applicants.
